Intimations – w/c Sunday 12th December 2021
1. Our Sunday Service is held at 10.45am and is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. It is still necessary to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Mima McSwan on 01294 602410, and it is equally important to let Mima know if your plans change and you will not be coming as there may be a waiting list for other folk wishing to attend.
2. The midweek Thursday service continues at 10.30am with seat reservations still required by phoning Mima.
3. God willing, it is our hope to be able to hold next Sunday’s service back in the refurbished church sanctuary at 10.45am. It’s been a long wait but a great Christmas present for us here in Kirkgate. However, we are in need of some assistance to give the church a good clean. Anyone available to help on either Monday or Tuesday next week from 10am will be made most welcome, but please bring your own cloths and buckets if possible.
4. The Prayer Group will meet at the close of this week’s service.
5. The next meeting of The Guild will be an afternoon of Carols and Readings on Monday 13th December at 2pm. All are welcome to come along and join in the singing and time of reflection. The meeting will also be available on our Youtube livestream for anyone unable to attend.
6. The Craft Team is now meeting every Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm in the church hall.
7. The Care and Share lunch for the homeless, run in conjunction with CHANA, is held in the hall every Friday from 12 noon – 2pm.
8. Ardrossan Presbytery is twinned with Milala Presbytery in Malawi. Once again this Christmas, we have a few gift cards available for the cost of £5 each which allow the Presbytery to purchase some much needed mosquito nets for a family in Malawi. The gift cards are sitting in the hallway for anyone wishing to purchase one and we are also asked to remember Milala Presbytery in our prayers.
9. As you’ll be aware, Kirkgate Church livestreams the Sunday morning service on to YouTube. In the church we will have two remotely controlled cameras which will be positioned under the gallery facing forward, although they can be panned around and zoomed out which may occasionally show some of the congregation. If you have any concerns about appearing in the livestream, please speak to Stuart in the first instance. However, seats behind the cameras under the back gallery will generally be ‘out of shot’.
Unfortunately, as attendees could potentially be identified (for example, a wider shot of the congregation whilst singing a hymn), we now require written consent from those present, especially if any children or ‘adults at risk’ are attending. As such, over the coming weeks, we will be asking attendees to complete a consent form to keep us compliant with our GDPR requirements. Again, please speak to Stuart if you have any questions or concerns.
These are all this week’s intimations.
