Church of Scotland – Pentecost Service – 31st May
On Sunday 31st May, the new Moderator of the Church of Scotland, Rt Rev Martin Fair is hosting a special service which includes worship, prayers, music, a sermon, Bible readings, and closes with the Moderator’s wife Mrs Elaine Fair singing The Blessing.
The Moderator is encouraging congregations and people of faith across Scotland, and beyond, to join together in worship as a whole church. The service can be viewed on the Church of Scotland website from 10am. It will also be streamed on the West Kilbride Parish Church live feed from 10.30am.
Christmas Fair
Many thanks to everyone who supported our Christmas Fair, whether by helping at it, providing goods or donations, or simply attending. So far, over £2,400 has been raised – a magnificent effort.
Our Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 7th December, from 11am – 2pm in the church halls. Please come along and support it.
Christmas Fair
Our Christmas Fair was a great success and so far has raised over £2,630. A huge thank you to all who supported it. Below are a selection of photos taken throughout the day. We are extremely grateful to Santa and his elf for taking time out of their very busy schedule to come and pay us a visit and get their photos taken with most of the stallholders!
Coffee and Cards
Our craft team have been hard at work and will be holding a Coffee and Cards morning on Saturday 3rd November from 10am – 12 noon. A wide range of Christmas Cards and other greetings cards will be available. Orders also being taken for any personalised cards.
Christmas Tree Festival – Sat 16 December
Our Craft Team are once again organising a Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday 16th December from 10am in the church. Individuals and organisations associated with the church will be decorating the trees which will be based on a theme of “Christmas Carols”.
At 3pm, there will be short Shoppers’ Carol Service to round the day off. This is also an ideal opportunity to come along and admire our new stained glass windows.
Midsummer Organ Recital – 25th June 2017
There was a short organ recital by our organist, Stuart McMahon, at the close of the service today, Sunday 25th June, as the organ and church sanctuary will be out of use over the summer due to the building works. Cream Tea – Sat 17th June
We will be holding a Cream Tea on Saturday 17th June, from 10.30am – 12.30pm in the church hall. Tickets are just £2, so come along and enjoy some lovely home baking.
Lunchtime Organ Recitals
As part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations, from Monday 11th July to Saturday 16th July we will be holding daily 30-minute lunchtime organ recitals at 12 noon. These free concerts will be given by current Kirkgate organist Stuart McMahon, and former organist Jim Grant. The concerts are intended to be very informal, and will feature a range of traditional organ music through to many popular and light classics. All welcome to attend.
Light up a Life Service
There will be a “Light up a Life” Service in aid of the Ayrshire Hospice, on Tuesday 8th December at 7pm. All welcome to attend this quiet, reflective service.
