Intimations – w/c 28th November 2021
1. Our Sunday Service is held at 10.45am and is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. It is still necessary to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Mima McSwan on 01294 602410, and it is equally important to let Mima know if your plans change and you will not be coming as there may be a waiting list for other folk wishing to attend.
2. The midweek Thursday service continues at 10.30am with seat reservations still required by phoning Mima.
3. Next Sunday, 5th December, we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion. It will also be our Christmas Gift service. Please bring along any unwrapped gifts which will then be given to the “Night Before Christmas” project – details about the work they do are in the church magazine. Communion will also be held at the midweek service on Thursday 2nd December.
4. Our informal Zoom chat session is now held on the first Tuesday of every month between 10.30 and 11.30am. The next session will be on Tuesday 7th December. For those without internet access you can also dial in to the chat session on your phone – all the joining details are on the website and in the Messenger.
5. The Craft Team is now meeting every Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm in the church hall.
6. As things are still difficult, it has been decided not to have a Christmas Fair this year. Instead, we would be very grateful for any monetary donations for the amount you normally have spent at the Fair. If you are able, could you please put your donation in an envelope and mark it “Christmas Fair” and if applicable, please also mark the envelope with “Gift Aid”, and either put it in the offering plate or give it to Jean Rainey or any of the fundraising committee.
7. Depending on the completion of the works in the church, we are hoping to hold our Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday, 11th December. We’ll confirm next Sunday as to whether it will be going ahead. However, if it does go ahead, the theme for the Festival will be “Hope For Our World”. Thinking about how climate change is affecting the world and what positive things people are doing to make a difference. If you would like to decorate a tree either by yourself or with a group please give your name to any member of the Craft team.
8. The next Kirk Session meeting will be held on Thursday 2nd Dec at 7.30pm via Zoom.
9. Articles for the December edition of the Kirkgate Messenger are required by today please. Additionally, if you would like to add in a Christmas Greeting in the magazine in lieu of sending some Christmas cards, then please send the details along with a small donation to the editor, Elizabeth McMahon. The magazine will be emailed and posted out later this week.
10. The next meeting of The Guild will be a Christmas afternoon on Monday 13th December at 2pm. All are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
11. The new Freewill Offering envelopes are available to uplift from the hall at the end of the service. It would also be helpful if you could take any that belong to some friends or neighbours.
These are all this week’s intimations.
