Intimations – w/c 26th September 2021
1. Our Sunday Service is now held at 10.45am. The service is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. It is still necessary to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Mima McSwan on 01294 602410, and it is equally important to let Mima know if your plans change and you will not be coming as there may be a waiting list for other folk wishing to attend.
This week’s service celebrates Harvest Thanksgiving and your donations will be going to support the work of Christian Aid. Please bring your harvest offering either this week or next, and have them marked as “Harvest gift” please. Click here for more information on Christian Aid’s Harvest Appeal.
2. The midweek Thursday service continues at 10.30am with seat reservations still required by phoning Mima.
3. Our informal Zoom chat session will now be held on the 1st Tuesday of every month between 10.30 and 11.30am. The next session will be on Tuesday 5th October. For those without internet access you can also dial in to the chat session using a special phone number – all the joining details are on the website and in the Messenger.
4. Articles for the October edition of the Kirkgate Messenger should be sent to the editor, Elizabeth McMahon by today please. It will be posted and emailed out to all who have requested it towards the end of the coming week.
5. Blythswood Shoeboxes – Packing of the shoeboxes continues apace. Any further donations of goods or finance are most welcome. The shoeboxes will be uplifted at the start of November, so all donations are required in the next few weeks please.
6. We will be holding a rag bag collection once again in October, but due to limited space for storage, we are asking folk to only bring their black bags the week before the collection date which is due on Tuesday 26th October. Please note that no books, bric-a-brac, cushions, duvets, pillows or soft toys will be accepted. Clothing, sheets/blankets, towels and any other material items are acceptable. Any shoes should be placed in a separate bag.
7. The Kirk Session will meet via Zoom on Thursday 7th October at 7.30pm.
These are all this week’s intimations.
