Intimations – w/c 21st November 2021
1. Our Sunday Service is held at 10.45am and is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. It is still necessary to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Mima McSwan on 01294 602410, and it is equally important to let Mima know if your plans change and you will not be coming as there may be a waiting list for other folk wishing to attend.
2. The midweek Thursday service continues at 10.30am with seat reservations still required by phoning Mima.
3. Our informal Zoom chat session is now held on the 1st Tuesday of every month between 10.30 and 11.30am. The next session will be on Tuesday 7th December. For those without internet access you can also dial in to the chat session on your phone – all the joining details are on the website and in the Messenger.
4. The Craft team is now meeting every Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm in the church hall.
5. The next meeting of the Guild will be on Monday 22nd November at 2pm when Nigel will celebrate Communion with us. All welcome.
6. As things are still difficult, it has been decided not to have a Christmas Fair this year. Instead, we would be very grateful for any monetary donations for the amount you normally have spent at the Fair. If you are able, could you please put your donation in an envelope and mark it “Christmas Fair” and either put it in the plate or give it to Jean Rainey or any of the fundraising committee.
7. Also, depending on completion of the works in the church, we are hoping to have a Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday, 11th December. More information about it will be given nearer the time.
8. Committee reports for the next Kirk Session meeting (Thursday 2nd Dec) are required by the Session Clerk no later than Friday 26th November please.
9. Articles for the December edition of the Kirkgate Messenger are required by next Sunday please. Additionally, if you would like to add in a Christmas Greeting in the magazine in lieu of sending some Christmas cards, then please send the details along with a small donation to the editor, Elizabeth McMahon.
10. Elma Hunter would like to thank everyone who contributed to and helped with the rag bag collection which raised £68 for church funds.
11. Mike Dench, chairman of Gideons (now called Good News for everyone) is speaking about his work to Saltcoats North Parish Guild on Wednesday 24th November at 1.30p.m. Anyone interested in hearing about their work will be made most welcome.
These are all this week’s intimations.
