Intimations – Sunday 22nd November
We have a few intimations for this week.
Firstly, we extend a warm welcome to our new minister Rev Nigel Chikanya and look forward to hearing and working with him over the coming weeks and months. Hopefully many of you were able to watch his induction service on Thursday evening – a recording of it is available to watch again via our website.
Articles for the next Kirkgate Messenger should be sent to Elizabeth McMahon by next Sunday, 29th November please. For the past few years we have also included some Christmas Greetings within the December magazine in return for a small donation – if you would like to include a message, then again, please contact Elizabeth – her email and phone number are in all the past editions of the magazine.
Many folk have been asking about the Christmas Fair, and as you’ll appreciate it is not possible to hold it this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The Christmas Fair was an important fundraising event for the church, and given that our income has already dropped considerably due to the restrictions, we are asking people to consider making a donation to the church for the amount that you normally would have spent in connection with the Fair. These donations can be handed in at either the Thursday or Sunday services until the end of the year. Alternatively, contact Vivien Bruce our Session Clerk who can arrange for your donation to be uplifted.
We will also be holding our annual Christmas Gift Service on Sunday 13th December in aid of the homeless. Gifts are required for all ages this year and again can be handed in at any of our Thursday or Sunday services before or on the 13th December.
