Intimations – w/c 6th March
1. Our Sunday Service is held at 10.45am and is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. It is still necessary to reserve your seat in advance by contacting Mima McSwan on 01294 602410, and it is still equally important to let Mima know if your plans change and you will not be coming as there may be a waiting list for other folk wishing to attend. The midweek Thursday service continues at 10.30am with seat reservations still required. We also have a Sunday School available for any children present.
2. Today and next Thursday (10th March), we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion at our morning and midweek services respectively. There will be a retiring offering today in aid of SAMS Angels – more details about the local charity which helps bereaved children can be found in the Church magazine.
3. The Prayer Group will meet after this week’s Sunday service.
4. The Pastoral Care Team would like to start a rota for transporting members of the congregation to/from church on a Sunday. To date, there has been a very low uptake to allow this initiative to happen. If anyone is willing to do this please add your name to the sheet in the vestibule, or speak to either Moira, Evelyn, Jennifer or Jean Hay.
5. The Craft Team will be holding a Coffee and Cards event on Saturday 12th March from 10am until 1pm, with their usual range of greetings cards along with Easter Cards. Personalised orders can also be taken.
6. We will be holding a Quiz Night on Friday 18th March. Tickets cost £6 which includes some half-time savoury snacks and a raffle ticket. Please see either Eunice McInnes or Phyllis Armstrong for your tickets.
7. We are looking forward to running an Alpha Course at Kirkgate on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm starting Wed 23 March. All members of the church and members of the community are welcome to join. So, if you have never done an Alpha, have questions about our faith, or know someone you think would be interested – come along on Wednesday evenings! We will start with a meal together, watch a video about different topics of Christianity, and chat about what we’re learning together.
We are also looking for a few people who would volunteer to help facilitate the evenings. Please contact Katy Flanigan at 07821 039757 or Nigel if you have any questions.
8. The Craft Team meets on Tuesdays from 1-4pm.
9. The Care and Share lunch run in conjunction with CHANA, is held in the hall every Friday from 12.30pm – 2pm.
10. The Kirk Session will meet after the service next Sunday 13th March, in order that the church accounts can be approved.
These are all this week’s intimations.
