Intimations – Sunday 20th November 2022

1. Our Sunday Service is held at 10.45am and is also available online live via YouTube with a recording available afterwards on the website, Twilio phone service (01294 444201) and podcasting channels. Sunday School available for young people. The midweek Thursday service is held every week at 10.30am. Please note that the phone service or podcasts won’t be available this week.
2. The Bible Study meets on Wednesday at 7pm in the church.
3. The Craft Team meets every Tuesday from 1pm and the Care and Share lunch run in conjunction with CHANA, is held in the hall every Friday from 12.30pm – 2pm, and the Country Dancing meets as normal on Thursday.
4. Next Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent and we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion during the morning service.
5. Next Sunday, Kirkgate is hosting Santa’s Grotto from as part of the town’s Christmas Carnival / Lights switch-on event from 2pm – 4pm. Free entry and children will receive a free gift. The mobile cinema will also be showing children’s films in the church.
6. Our Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 3^rd December from 11am – 2pm, with all the usual stalls including home bakery, sweets, jewellery, books and bottle stall, and of course the tea room. Donations for any stalls and the tea room will be most welcome – the church will be open on Friday 2^nd from 6.30pm for any donations. Tickets are just 50p for entry to the Fair and £2.50 for the tea room (children £1) with rolls and sausage available for an extra £1.50.
7. On Saturday 10^th December we’ll be holding another Christmas Tree Festival in the church from 10am, with a Shoppers’ Carol Service at 3pm. This year’s theme is simply the Christmas Story – if you’d like to decorate a tree, please see Jean Hay or any of the Craft Team who can give you more information.
8. On Sunday 11^th December, we will be holding a gift service in aid of the “Night Before Christmas” campaign. Please bring any gifts unwrapped.
9. Advance notice – St Cuthbert’s Church will be holding a Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday 18^th December at 3.30pm in the church to which all are invited. They also hope to augment the choir for the occasion, and anyone wishing to take part can come to a rehearsal on Thursday 15^th Dec at 7pm. It would be useful to know by the 11^th Dec if you can attend to ensure that sufficient music is available. Contact details on the noticeboard.
